Key Stage 1 Swimming

Swimming is part of the National Curriculum PE programme and we aim to take all children swimming every year. This is for a set number of weeks and will involve one class at a time.

Children from Year R to Year 2 will go on a Tuesday morning – we will let you know when it is your child's turn.

Wren Class swimming until end of Term 2 (last session 8th February) Dove Class will start after the holiday

These swimming sessions take place at St Katherine's School in Snodland. Half of the class go together and then swap over during the morning. Swimming sessions develop water confidence and basic skills and techniques.

Children need swimming kit (one piece suit for girls and tight fitting trunks or shorts for boys). A swimming hat is needed to prevent the pool filters clogging with hair. Goggles are also a good idea – but please make sure they have been tried on and set to the right size first! Thank you. Swimming hats can be bought in many places but you may wish to have a school badged one – these are available in the same way as uniform items (through Eduspot) and cost £2.45.

As usual, please please please make sure that everything has a name label! Including the towel!

All transport to and from swimming sessions will be done with our minibuses and members of our team.
