Welcome to Cycling Club!
Cycling club is a new venture following the acquisition of a fleet of new bikes! We aim to develop skills and techniques as well as enjoying exercise and some elements of competition.
Bikes are great fun but can also be a little risky and so it is important that everyone taking part will listen carefully and try hard to follow instructions.
This will help keep them, and everyone else, as safe as possible.
We also need to ensure helmets are worn - we will use school ones.
Clothing needs to be suitable for cycling and to be warm enough for all weathers. A rain jacket is a must as we will be out whatever is falling from the sky! We may get wet and muddy depending on the conditions.
Avoid baggy trouser legs and long laces as these can get caught around pedals and in the chain. PE kit can be worn at a push but may not be quite as comfortable as other outdoor items. Cycling gloves can help with grip and keep hands a little warmer if you have some.
There is no need to send anything other than suitable clothing and a drink.
Most of the activity will take place around the school grounds but we may venture off site if the group are performing well.
We will finish at 4:30pm and collection will be from the shipping container in the car park.
Remember that we have four sessions starting on 5th Oct with the last session being 9th Nov. There is no session on 2nd Nov as the school trip to Wales is on then instead.
We are looking forward to 'wheelie' having fun!
