Yummy Yummy! Its Dinner Time!

Wouldham All Saints Church of England Primary School values healthy lifestyles and we aim to support families in making good lifestyle choices.

Children are able to have a school meal, cooked on the premises each day, or bring a packed lunch from home.

The school manages our own catering provision.  We have a dedicated team responsible for cooking tasty nutritious meals every day.

We want children to be able to access high quality, well cooked healthy food that provides value for money.

Meal prices will change to £2.60 per day for children in Year 3 and above.  Children younger than this are entitled to a free meal.

If your child has any food allergies or you have any questions regarding this issue please contact the school office in the first instance.

Free school meals

All children in Years R, 1 and 2 are currently entitled to a free school meal each day. We encourage you to take this up. It probably won't last for ever but the greater the uptake then the better the case to keep it as government policy!

Families entitled to certain benefits can also apply for free school meals. This applies if you get...

  • Universal Credit ; Income Support; income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance; income-related Employment and Support Allowance; support under Part VI of the Immigration and Asylum Act 1999; the guaranteed element of Pension Credit; Child Tax Credit (provided you’re not also entitled to Working Tax Credit and have an annual gross income of no more than £16,190); Working Tax Credit run-on - paid for 4 weeks after you stop qualifying for Working Tax Credit.

If you believe you qualify for free school meals then apply here : https://www.kent.gov.uk/education-and-children/schools/free-school-meals

Packed Lunches

Creating a healthy lunch can be a challenge for busy parents - especially if you have a fussy eater.

It is important to feed learning well and this means providing healthy and nutritious choices rather than succumbing to child pressure.

Confectionary isn't allowed, nor are fizzy drinks. We also request one 'treat' item - such as a cake or crisps.

Don't believe it when you are told by your child that "everybody else has that in their lunch" - it won't be the case!
